Is this a holiday weekend? In Canada maybe?

I keep seeing somone post that its a long weekend and its getting my hopes up. Is this a Canadian holiday?

    We get a long weekend every month except March, June and November (depending on whether or not you get November 11th off).  There has been a lobby for years for a civic holiday in June.  It hasn't happened yet.

    Can I just say I hate you Canadians Stick out tongue Random holidays and awesome Maternity leave?! Thats it, when I get home today I'm telling DH we're moving to Canada lol

    The year Mat Leave is nice.... however, if you can't afford to only make 55% of your pay for a year, it's back to work you go!.... And not many daycares take infants under 12 months of age, so if you don't have family to help you out, and you're poor... it sorta sucks lol

    I would just like to add.. to not forget about our Universal Tax and Child Tax that we get each month! (Well.. for those of that DO get the child tax Big Smile)

     I get an insane amount and it goes up with the next one. Lisa, you forgot about our HST and OSTB too!! 

    Ooops only Ontario gets OSTB.

    Yes! Mine went up in July! Hooray for that! And hooray for even more once this baby arrives, lol You guys may get that, but over here in Alberta we get extra Alberta child tax twice a year also!

    I'm in AB too. I only knew about the $100/month UCCB. There is more?! :)

    Just lurking as I would have been an October mom if I hadn't miscarried....

    The AB extra is only if you make less than X amount of dollars a year.  My husband makes too much for that to happen for us, but I do know of quite a few people who do get it!

    Ectopic pregnancy discovered November 6, 2012 at 6 weeks

    Daughter #3 - January 19, 2014

    Started our exploration into the world of international adoption June 2012.  We have no idea what this is going to look like but we are excited to find out!
