After months and months of bedtime/naptime fights, we finally have a rhythm. It use to take several hours to put C to bed, now it's nurse, 3 books, rock and lay in his bed drowsy(most of the time)!!!!! I don't think I could have done anything to speed up the process, I think he was just ready. The best part is, bedtime is now my favorite time of night. No more bouncing, walking, shushing, crying....we just snuggle in his chair and rock until he closes his eyes. Sometimes I enjoy it so much that I continue to rock until he is fast asleep, I just can't resist rocking a sleeping baby!
However, I sadly have to report that just because he falls asleep in his crib it does not mean he magically sleeps through the night. Silly me, really thought if I could teach him to fall asleep on his own he would then sleep 12 hours in his crib. He does sleep from in there until 1 a.m. though. I actually love our current arrangement, it's the best of both worlds. I get adult time from 7-10, Sleep alone from 10-1, and then snuggles with C from 1-7.
It's been several weeks of pretty decent sleep, so I'm officially declaring that I am a Zombie mama graduate!!!!!
Thank you ladies for all the support, advice, and comiserating(sp?) over the past 7 months of sleeping hell!

I just want to give you a world as beautiful as you are to me.
