Former or current prosecutor(s)

Hi,

I remember someone here was either a former or current prosecutor.  I was a prosecutor but have been home since my son was born almost 2 yrs ago.  I tried about 10 cases each year (I was in the major crimes unit) and I really miss it, but don't see how I could return and be as involved in DS's care as I am now.

I am wondering, how do you manage your career w/a special needs child?  Did you switch jobs, or adjust your schedule?

I am a prosecutor.  When I went back to work after Carson was born I was very lucky to have the DA agree to a super flexible schedule. Basically, I made sure everything was done on my cases, went to court as much as possible and then found coverage when I was going to be out for an appointment/therapy, etc.  I work in felony narcotics and property crimes, and trials don't happen very often - and usually last only a few days.  The times I have had trials I thought were going to go I just made sure I don't have any appointments or make sure DH can handle them.

Would you go back to major crimes?  I am assuming those are higher level felony crimes like rape, murder, etc.   Do you have a daycare that DS could attend that you trust?
