Who's paranoid? This girl.

Welp, the more I read today about crazybears and preggo fakers and wedding-cancelling stalkers, the more paranoid I became.  Or, maybe I was just too trusting to begin with.  I deleted online photos, changed my profile details on TB, checked privacy settings on FB and even tracked down an old blog from college to delete.

I hope the TARU team from L&O doesn't come check my internet history.  Or any crazybears.

    Or you could just not post personal info about yourself on TB and create a screenname not related to anything else you've ever posted online.

    Nope, just some anecdotes from some people's past experience with internet crazies causing some apprehension and concern about just how little we know about each other IRL.  Somebody suggested that there could be a faker in the group.

    Wow I just read some posts I forgot it was Thursday. Well once my labor buddie accepts me on Facebook she can vouch (sp??????) for me. Maybe I should figure out how to post a bump pic?? I'm not the faker though. The Lord knows I'm not.. along with my growing bellie and heatburn and the kicks to the ribs and cervix and my weird crave for mustard and pickles earlier...

    i don't understand why this is so shocking to people.  this is the internet.  for certain there are crazies out there and they are on TB reading our posts and looking at our pics.  how do we even know everyone on here is female?  you don't.  is it creepy?  for sure.  be smart, don't post personal info, check your account settings and remember that anyone can read what you wrote....there isn't a lock on the door of the Oct. 2011 board.

    I must be jaded after being on the internet for a long time.  At this point, I have seen some seriously crazy stuff, including a girl who faked her own death - and sold a bunch of her stuff and got all sorts of donations for her family in the process.  Faking a pregnancy is almost normal on the scale of crazy that has "fake your own death" somewhere on the spectrum. Huh?

    People just need to be careful.  I know there were people on TTGP who would go too far and would look people up based on information they put out there.  Don't give our your personal information out all over the place and you should be OK.

    ladies, also if your email is showing on your FB info page get rid of it. There are a lot of creepers out there that are very good with computers and can hack into your email. I had it happen to one of my friends and she had some pictures in her email she had sent to her bf and they ended up being plastered all over the internet. Not saying you ladies are sending naked pics to your secret lovers or anything Wink but I know I get some paperless statements that have info on them that I wouldn't want other people to get ahold of.

    This is why my FB email is only associated with my FB, I have a different email for here and for personal use

    I love this!!

    I was actually looking for that quote about "just because you're paranoid doesn't man everyone isn't out to get you" but I stumbled along this on the way.  I think it's my new favorite paranoia quote.
