My LO was almost delivered tonight! I was having the NST earlier and I guess it picked up a contraction (that I didnt feel) and at that time the baby's heart rate fell. After that, I had an ultrasound and the baby is not getting the nutrition he should, he is right under the 10th percentile mark and is having some asymetrical growth (head growing bigger than belly, etc) and weighs in at aproximately 3 lb 6-8 oz.
The perinatal doc was considering delivering him tonight but ordered another NST and since that came back normal thought we'd wait longer and play this out a little more.
At this point they are looking back to this morning's plan- start another 24 hour urine test tomorrow. If the results come back and are about the same then they will let me go home on mandatory bed rest with a couple follow up appointments next week.
This kid is coming soon!!!
Re: Whew! LO almost delivered tonight!!
It totally freaked DH and I out! I think my BP went up a bit as I was so anxious! I did have my second steroid shot today, so hopefully we can get a little more weight on him and his lungs have developed enough that when the time comes he'll be healthy!
Thanks Azrayla!

Thank you everyone! It was a very stressful afternoon/early evening! I though my poor husband was going to pass out! Not that we're not ready for our LO to be here, but we were not expecting the possibility of him coming so early! We were not mentally prepared for me to be admitted to the hospital this week. It's definate that the baby will be here in a matter of days till possible 37 weeks, but the doc is most sure we're not going full term.
LO is just not getting enough nutrition for growth and the point is coming where he'll be better off growing outside of me. All I want though, is to go home for a couple of days, get myself mentally prepared and a few things handled at home (with help!) and then come back. Oh! And my baby shower is this Sunday!
I have to make that!! (of course my mom would make me sit the whole time and serve me...which is ok!
Wow, that's scary. Do they know what could be causing the lack of nutrition? He will be so small when he comes out too, so you will have a rough road ahead of you either way. I will be thinking about you. My youngest had a 2-vessel cord and was on the low end of normal, but they were worried she would stop getting what she needed. She never passed the 2 NSTs I had a week. But the BPPs were fine so she stayed in there until 38 weeks when she failed her final NST and they decided to take her out. Fortunately I went into labor on my own the night before I was induced. She turned out small at 6.5 lbs, but fine.
By comparison, I had an ultrasound on Wednesday at 32 w 5 d, and they estimated my baby weights 4 lbs. 15 oz., and that was just in the 63 percentile or so.
