9 weeks measuring 6 weeks

Had a sono today and the u/s tech said i was only measuring 6w. +4 days. But my lmp was 5/23/11. So by that I should be 9w +3 days. They saw a "flicker" in the screen and told me that was the hb but im freaking out. Has this ever happend to anyone else.

Were you charting your cycle (taking your basal body temperature, etc)? If not, it's extremely likely that you just ovulated later than "normal." When they base your due date on your LMP, they are assuming that you ovulated on the 14th day of your cycle. Most women don't actually ovulate on that day - it's just an average.

yeah but the strange part is i took my pregnancy test 3 wks ago, and if im 6w by measuring that would have made me 3w when i took the test. But that could be it too. (hopefully)

If you took it exactly three weeks ago, you would've been 3 weeks 4 days (or 11DPO), which isn't unheard of. Even getting a positive pregnancy test at 7DPO isn's impossible (although it's not terribly likely).

Also, your signature pictures are the size of Kentucky. You might want to use tinypic.com to make them smaller.

The same thing happened to me. By my LMP I should have been 8.5 weeks when I went for my sono, but I measured just over 6. I tracked my ovulation though so it wasn't a shock. You probably just O'd later.

thats what im starting to think...i jus think it was freaking me out thinking i had everthing perfectly planned but nothing has been going to plan lol

I was supposed to be 8 weeks 1 day for my first ultrasound and they had me measured at 6 weeks 5 days. (ten days off) My ob/gyn was not concerned and said that I probably ovulated later than expected.

When I got my first BFP I was only 3wks, so it's always possible.

By my LMP I am right around 6 weeks but I think I will have the same issue on Monday when I go in for my first appt..... I was dx as annovulatory and *shockingly* was able to get pregnant while I was taking a break from clomid! lol I had three cycles all by myself (yay) and have been tracking my temp, etc. I actually think I am closer to 4/5 weeks pregnant so it will be interesting to see what I measure..... That said, if you and/or measure at earlier, then we change to saying we are "___" weeks pregnant and change from what we were saying based on our LMP???? This is where I am confused.......

Based on my LMP, I would be 12 weeks but based on my ovulation and u/s, I am 9w1d. I didn't O until like the 40th day of my cycle. Try not to worry, I'm sure everything's just fine!

With DD, I got a positive test at 3weeks2days pg. Weird things can happen with pregnancy and cycles. Try to stay positive.

You could have ovulated late in your cycle. I cases where you ovulate late, they can't really go off of the date of your last LMP because it would be inaccurate, so they would need to go off your ovulation date instead, but if you don't know exactly when that was, then they'll need to continue to monitor through ultrasound until they can figure it out.

Dating ultrasounds are the most accurate way to tell how far along you are and predict your due date. Like everyone else said, you ovulated later than predicted. Congrats, you have a little sweet pea.

I had the same thing happen to me yesterday. I think I am 8.3, but the baby measured 6.6. I go back in a week and 1/2 to get another ultrasound. I think I O' late. I got a positive OPK on day 19 and 20. So I hope that is all that it is. I also hope they don't move my due date.

My LMP was 5/20 with an EDD of 2/24. My EDD based on u/s is 3/5, putting me back almost 2 weeks. I was charting, so I know exactly when I ovulated and this was expected. Many women don't ovulate at the "14" day mark. You probably ovulated later in your cycle, giving you a later EDD. It's hard to tell if you weren't charting.
