A closer due date perhaps? WDYT?

So I went to my OB check-up today and after she measured my belly (she's never mentioned anything before) I asked her if I seemed to be measuring appropriately to my due date and she said I'm measuring 2 cm. larger! I was so caught up about it I forgot to ask her....but, do you think that moves my due date closer by maybe a week or so? Just wondering if any of you ladies know because that would make me SUPER excited if it does!  LO is pre-genetically destined to be a shorty like his mama and daddy because we're both pretty short and petite so I was surprised that LO was measuring bigger.

TIA

  • I don't think so.  I'm measuring 6 weeks behind and I sure hope LO doesn't come 6 weeks late. lol

  • I don't think measurements really effect due date unless you are unsure of when you conceived.  I'm measuring way ahead, but that's because i started out with a belly before pregnancy, so it throws off the measurements.  Or you could just have a little extra fluid or a big uterus.

  • no, it doesn't really mean anything about your due date.  it could be extra fluid, the way baby is laying, recent growth spurt, etc.  i went from measuring 2 weeks ahead to now about a week behind in a month's time.

  • Within 2cm isn't a big concern and doesn't change your due date. I consistently measure 2 weeks ahead.

  • I'm not sure how measurements and due dates go, but since my last appointment a month ago I grew 2cm. I was pretty small to start off with though, I'm not sure how that plays in either... Sorry

  • Doesnt change anything. I was measuring ahead with DD and was ttold if anything shed come on her own early but my date wont change.. Dating ultrasounds early on are most accurate measuring ahead or behind could mean anything..
