Is this diaper rash?!?!

Please keep in mind that DD has never had diaper rash.  Always a nice, clear, smooth bottom.  This morning her nighttime diaper was an explosion of poop and we couldn't tell if it just happened or she had slept in it for most of the night.  Right before her nap I changed her diaper and noticed a bunch of red bumps on her butt.  I wanted to err on the safe side so I put some desitin on and hoping for the best.  Does this sound like diaper rash?

    If it's isolated to the bum and is specifically where she was sitting in the bm for a while, it could very well be.  If you cleaned her up, put diaper rash cream on and keep sure she stays pretty clean and dry, it should clear up in no time.  If it doesn't, it spreads or gets worse, you might want to call the dr for an opinion. I 'm betting it will clear up by tomorrow if it's diaper rash caused by the bm.

    That very much sounds like a diaper rash. My LO gets a horrid rash if she sits in her bm for even 10 minutes.

    Thanks ladies!  I got a bit scared when I saw it since like I mentioned she's never had diaper rash before.  I covered that bum with so much desitin, it was ridiculous!  Hopefully it will clear up in a day or two.
