Who uses Drop-Ins?

Logan hold the bottle and feeds himself, but with the Ventaires, if he isn't leaning all the way back, he can't hold it at the right angle.  Thinking about going to drop ins, but wanted some opinions on them first!

Re: Who uses Drop-Ins?

  • we HATE...HATE these ..  https://www.playtexbaby.com/Bottles/Dropins/Liners-4oz ...includes the 8oz.  without fail EVERYTIME we use them they don't hold and spill warm formula all over LO and usually me too!  Last night we tried using an 8oz one, and formula went everywhere and REALLY pissed off LO.

We do however like these ..they fold over the outside of the bottle.  we do keep the little tabs on, cause at 3am, i can pull on them just a little to ensure the liner is still in place.  https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4048158&CAWELAID=490368618

  • We use them and I LOVE them. I usually buy the target brand drop-ins and have had zero issues with them. The best part of the drop-ins is that there isn't a ton of parts to wash like the ventaires (we use those too).

  • We use the drop ins and love them! I do want to get some smaller ones (4 oz) though, we have the large size which is great for her larger 6 oz bottle first thing in the morning and bedtime bottles, but the two 4 oz feedings during the day it's a bit big for. LO also holds her own bottle and feeds herself, but she has to be laying down flat on her back to hold it and feed herself. If she is sitting up or at an incline, she hasn't figured out how to tilt the bottle upwards, we have to work on that!! Good luck!
  • We used them for DD and loved them. It's kinda tricky getting all the air out of the liner without popping it off and dumping the milk out. Once we figured out the best way for us, it was great. DD could hold the bottle and suck on it like a straw. We just switched DS to formula, and we are hoping he figures the whole bottle thing out soon. Oh! It's also super easy to travel with these bottles. I just bring a bag of extra nipples. When we are done with the bottle, I put the dirty nipple in a bag, toss the liner and rinse everything else. Then it's ready to be used again when we need it! We started out with Verntaire bottles with DD, and I remember there were tons of bottles and pieces to be cleaned at the end of every day. Drop ins leave you with way less to clean, and the liners are recyclable.

  • We LOVE them. I used them with my first son and I'm using them again this time around. I use the Playtex brand and Target brand...just whichever I have on hand at the time. They are the exact same thing but Target is cheaper. Never had any problems either. Like pp said, there aren't a lot of parts which is great! I highly recommend them. Smile

  • Seeing that PP's love these, am I just incapable of using them w/o them making a HUGE mess?!!

How are you ladies getting them to work so well for you?  We are just using the playtex drop in bottles, and EVERY TIME they make a huge mess, 4oz and 8oz

The only thing that I can think of that would cause a big mess is if you are trying to push out all the air out of the bag. If you push it too hard you could collapse the bag. Other then that I don't know.

totally possible.  I will try tonight with water.  ...I thought I had pushed slowly last night, but not 100% sure.

Good luck! Honestly, I never push the air out. He does fine with it.

With DS1, my DH would ALWAYS bust the liners b/c he tried to push the air out too fast. I don't even push the air out with DS2 now. I forgot for the longest time and now I just dont do it! :)  It hasn't made him gassy or anything.
