Upstate NY Babies

overnight wetting- wdyd?

So I tried limiting fluid after 5- I tried overnight diapers (and I swear they are worse than the regulars) but last night L woke up at 430a- soaked from neck to feet...I changed him and the bed- and although I loved the chance to rock him (he never lets me rock him anymore)- I'm dragging a$$ today because he was up at 7 - so I want to try and get a handle on this before the new baby comes...

Re: overnight wetting- wdyd?

  • The overnight dipes are terrible (IMO).

Try a size up.  Also you could add in a cloth diaper soaker - it is like a cloth pad.

  • Would you be opposed to using cloth diapers at night?  If you'd be up for giving it a try- try using a fitted with a wool soaker over it.  Worst case scenario- you try it and don't like it, you can resell both for close to what you paid for them.  Good Luck!
  • Evan is a really heavy wetter and we use a size up overnight (Huggies) and he is hardly ever wet.

I'd try different brands - there's no way he should be that soaked if you aren't giving him liquids after 5. Whatever you are using just probably isn't fitting him that well. Also - if he is a tummy sleeper, try making sure "he" is pointed down and the diaper is higher over his stomach and lower on his back.

    GL!!

  • Pretty much everything Telyco said! We use Huggies Overnights and rarely have a leak. He wears size 5, but size 4 babydry during the day.

I tried liners and a fleece soaker over a disposable, only the overnights keep him dry. Pampers night dipes didn't work for us at all. I do the lower in the back and snug the tabs up good, always pointing him down before securing the diaper.
