Need more girl name help. Ariella MN? Mc...

My husband and kids are hooked on the name Ariella.  While I think it's pretty, I can't say I'm in love (& I understand the thought of 'areola' and the little mermaid), though it's growing on me.  I like Ella, but don't like how popular it is. 

They want Ariella Faith.  I kind of feel like Faith is a 'filler' MN.  I've always wanted a name after my grandmother, but she isn't too fond of her name (neither am I).  So how much do you think a MN matters?  Grandma's name is Doris Mae.  I could go with Mae, but again, I feel like that's more of a filler.

So.....is Ariella Doris awful?  The only other thing that I think could mean something for me and my Grandma is Opal (bc she recently gave me her beautiful opal rings that I always admired everytime we were together).

Ariella Opal?

Also, what NN do you think you would use for Ariella?  Ari?  Ella?

    I like Ariella Faith or Ariella Mae, and since Mae has more family significance for you, i'd suggest that one. We've already decided to use family names for our future LO's middle names. I don't care for the flow of Ariella Doris or Ariella Opal, and the flow is more important to me I guess. Your last name would also become a factor to me, flow wise. As for a nn, my mind automatically goes to Ella.

    Of your choices, I think Ariella Mae is very pretty.

    I agree with this. Except for the nn... I love the nn Ari
