My husband just accepted a job & we will be moving to San Antonio from San Diego, CA. I am probably in for a huge change.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a OB/GYN and a Pediatrician? I'm pregnant so I will need to find an OB soon after moving in late April. Also what are some good family friendly neighborhoods? We have looked at rental houses and there doesn't seem to be that many. Thank you to anyone who replies
Re: Moving to the area! (Pediatrician/OB?)
Villages of Westcreek is a nice area. Alamo Ranch is also very nice and brand new.
My kids see Dr. Heather Brandon with PediDocs. https://sapedidocs.com/
She's great!
I'm also currently looking for a new OB/GYN. There have been some great recommendations for Dr. Harle and Dr. Hedges. Hopefully you'll get some more feedback from the board, sometimes it's kinda slow. Good Luck!
San Antonio is pretty big (much like San Diego I imagine.) It would be hard to rec a neighborhood without knowing what side of town, style (old, established, new construction etc...) and price. Where is your husband's job?
GL with the move and welcome!!!! I hope you enjoy SA as much as we do!!!
Thanks. My husband is working with Boeing at the Lackland AFB, but he has training at the San Antonio airport so we are very open to different areas seeing as they are on opposite sides of town.
We are looking for fairly new, in the 250k-300k price range.
Thanks! I hope we enjoy it, I'm getting ready for the heat!
Thanks! I will check out that Pedi
I love my OB, he's in the Stone Oak area north of 1604 Gil Villanueva 210-484-8100.
In your price range I would recommend Alamo Ranch area, near there is a HWY called 151 which takes you straight to Boeing. Probably a 20-25 min drive and Alamo Ranch has tons of shopping centers.
I love both my Pedi and OB.
Pedi-Dr Cumming and OB is Dr A Williams. She delivers at Methodist Medical Center only. Both of these MDs are the only MD in the practice, so it is small and personal, one of my favorite things about both of them. Everytime I call for a sick visit for the Pedi we are in that same day.
The house next to mine is back up for rent, we are up in Encino Park though and the price range is not that high.
Dr, Harle and Dr Hedges are with Seven Oaks Womens Center. I used that practice when I had my son and LOVED them. I had Dr. Satterfield, she was good but I'll be switching to either Dr. Delagarza or Dr Hedges for my next pregnancy. Seven Oaks is awesome. Here's their website if you want to check them out. They have bios of all the doctors.

Hi!
We just moved here from San Francisco. I am 30 weeks pregnant and so far :-) the heat hasn't been too bad. But everyone is telling em to brace myself. I suppose you are more comfortable in heat being from Southern CA.
I was just referred to a OB group and so far really like Women Partners in OB/GYN, 210-946-1300,deliver at North Centeral Batist only. My OB is Dr. Van Over. She seems very nice and easy to get along with. I believe Dr. Villanovea (spelling??) is in this group as well. I have had 3 Kaiser babies so a all this is a llttle different for me. I have not yet identified a Pedi yet and need to do so asap. So I will look into some the referrals you have recieved.
As far as rental, we looked all over the North and close to city. We choose Alamo Heights area. It is a beautiful old neighborhood, maybe a little pricey, and may even be out of our price range for a purchase but we wanted to be close to the city as we explore the city and get our barrings.
Good luck and keep us posted. I am looking for moms to meet for playgroups too
Cheers,
Sandi
What ever you do, do not go to Institute for Womes Health in Stone Oak (dr ramos)
she consistantly is running behind (2hrs or more at times) and the staff could care less. I am now going to 7 Oaks Womens Center (Dr. Cox)
I second the rec for Dr. Vanover! She delivered my son and is AMAZING!!
