OMG I just snorted out my tea!! On the Today show they are doing a story about the pressure for pregnant women to stay fit, and for new moms to drop weight really quickly after the baby is born, because of "hollywood" moms like Bethenny Frankel. (Posing in a bikini 4 weeks after her baby was born) Their medical correspondent, Dr. Snyderman, just said,
"We have become cuckoo about hating our bodies, and this self loathing?pregnancy should be nine months of root beer floats and bliss, and deal with it afterwards. I think this is an Upper East Side, white girl, obnoxious problem."
Re: I can't believe she just said that!
I saw that, too, and completely agree! I think you need to eat healthy and keep up an exercise routine but if you're so obsessed about your weight and body changes that you intentionally do something harmful just to keep it down (like making yourself vomit the whole pregnancy), then don't freakin' get pregnant. Adopt!
I wonder if that "Selfie" girl whose blog they always talk about on the month boards saw that segment. I think she's in for a rough road.
Wait, who is that?!!? I need some excitement!!!
I was glad when she said that too! I thought that whole segment was dumb.
How is it any different than non-pregnant celebrities being skinny and making non-pregnant women feel like crap?
But overall, I just think that comparing yourself to a celebrity is dumb. They have much more free time to work out if they want and much more money to hire trainers, nannies, etc.
Totally- it drives me crazy when friends compare their arms or legs or butt to a celebrity's and complain that they can't look like that. If it were your JOB to have a great butt, then you would have a great butt. Otherwise, do the best with the time and resources that you have and stop looking at these superficial bozos for guidance.
The thing is, everyone gains weight differently during pregnancy. During my 1st tri, I had horrible morning sickness and ate jello and chicken soup. I gained 8 pounds. I have no idea how.
To compare yourself to someone else whether they are celebrity or not is simply setting yourself up for failure.
I also loved the reminder that it took 9 months to put it on and it will take time to take it off. Music to my ears.

I should put a disclaimer that reading some of her posts may make you want to stab stuff.
Thanks for posting the link. I have definitely wanted to stab my eyes out on a few occasions but it's SO DARN ENTERTAINING.
Is it horrible that I hope this girl gains 100 lbs and is never able to get rid of all of it? I am obsessed with her blog, but it drives me crazy at the same time. "Look at me. I'm so fat. I may not look like it to you, but trust me I am". Ugh! She definitely makes me want to stab stuff. Yet I just can't stop reading...
I was thinking of her during the entire segment!!
