I need opinions of Kid's Bop

I've never really seen a difference in kids bop and the regular song from the artist. I was wondering the samething. My 9 year old requested the lastest kids bop but I have to listen to it first before giving it to her because if its the same lyrics but just kids singing it there is no point.

The only thing I've seen that's different is that they edit some of the content. For example, in Lady Gaga's "Born This Way," they altered or removed all mentions of LGBT.

What about that Bruno Mars song? Have you heard the newest one? I'm just curious. I've never listened but to the commercials on my TV that try to get me to buy it.

mmm i dont really see the point, they are basically selling songs that are already popular that have kids singing them...

i rather have Samantha listen to some Rush or Journey

There are just some things in that song that as DS grows up I don't think (if the lyrics are the same) I really want him to be talking about all the time. And it's always those things that kids tend to pick up - the stuff you don't want them to. Hell, even country music these days isn't safe for my child to listen to. Looks like I will have to let him listen to old country and classical Big Smile

Actually I have a group that I really enjoy listening to called Guster. They very rarely have curse words (there are a couple) in their music. I also LLOOOVEEEEE me some Ben Folds, but DH and I agreed the other day while listening that we couldn't listen anymore due to the fact that there are too many curse words in his music to subject Hudson to listen to it.

I hate kids bop. To me it is horrible cover songs of pop music. They make it kid friendly by having a group of kids sing the chorus. Kind of makes my ears bleed.

Agreed on the bleeding of the ears. I'm not a Kids Bop fan - per PPs, it just seems like songs regurgitated and G-Rated. That being said, if DS ever requests it, I'll proabably buy it for him.

Right now, I either have DS listen to kid-friendly ORIGINAL songs (I'm a fan of a lot of Indie music, which, for the most part, doesn't get vulgar), or I sing to him. I sing to him every day to and from DC...which probably makes HIS ears bleed Stick out tongue , but hey - at least it's interactive. LOL
