i posted yesterday that my best friend had her baby...and was planning on going to visit them today. she called late last night and said the poor little guy was having seizures and his breathing would stop. he was transported to childrens and she was discharged to be with him. i haven't talked to her today yet. everything was fine with l&d and her entire pregnancy. this is really scary, they don't know what is wrong with him. please keep them in your prayers, they really need it! thank you.

just talked to my friend. they still don't know much. they did a couple tests and the good news is that he doesn't have blood on the brain and his brain is formed just fine. so, more tests today. we are just in a holding pattern until we hear more.

i spoke with her again tonight and they still don't know much. the good news is that they have ruled out the major syndroms that he could have, but the bad news is that they still don't know what is causing the seizures. the apnea is also caused from the seizures, so that is good too that there is only one problem not two. they gave him anti-seizure medicine but he isn't responding to it so they tried another. no word on that yet. she said if they don't know anything and end up having to go home they will have to bring a bunch of machines and moniters with them so they can give him oxygen when he has a seizure. poor guy. he is getting a bunch of tests run tomorrow, so hopefully they will give some answers.

oh, and they ended up naming him jack. so please pray for little jack and his worried parents.

i actually didn't ask her about the name. she was so upset when i talked to her and on her way to children's. i just call him "baby JRD" in my head, b/c they were trying to decide between jack, reid and dean.

How scary! We will definitely add them to our prayers. I hope we see a day when we no longer have to pray for sick kids. It breaks my heart.

Baby Jack will be in my prayers. I assume he is in the RCNIC at Childrens? This is where Max is. Tell her to email me if she needs to talk. aw thank you, i will let her know. that is where they are. they said the place was packed. she sat in a chair all night next to him. she and her husband got a hotel for the next 3 nights so they can be really close to him.
