Chicco carseat adapter for City Mini double stroller

We ordered the stroller and the adapter, despite some negative reviews on amazon (of the adapter). If you use(d) the adapter, how was it? Was it secure? I assume LO doesn't fall off the stroller?!

    I had the universal adapater (using a Graco Snugride 22) and I hated it. It secured the carseat well enough, so no, LO wasn't going to fall off the stroller and the adapter itself was very secured to the frame. However, the adapter was SO heavy, made the relatively flat fold of the City Mini, not flat and not really compact when the metal adapter was protruding.

    For me, it ruined all the things I loved about the City Mini. I returned it before DS was even born and got the belly bar and a snack tray instead.
