I'm trying to get a feel for what I should be doing to prepare at this point. The only things I have done so far are:
- buy our little guy a few outfits
- registered (my shower is next month)
- we are almost sure what crib/mattress and furniture we want
- still deciding on what color the walls will be painted
Thing is, we are going to be moving right after he is born so I can't really get his nursery ready (which I'm so bummed about) until after he is here.
What are you currently doing or have done to prepare this far?
Thanks!

Re: In the 27-30 weeks range? Come in...
I'm in the same boat with you except that we don't know when we are going to move. We live in a rental and planning to buy a house as soon as we find something we like, so I don't want to go all out on the nursery since we don't know how long we will be living here.
So far:
Ordered the crib and dresser/changing table which won't be here for another 4 weeks or so
Started on my registry but far from done and my shower is in 3 weeks
Going to buy paint today
Got a few outfits as gifts from DH's family
Going to order the trial pack of cloth diaper today (we want to try CD first)
Going to order cord blood banking sometime this week
Took classes for breastfeeding, Baby CPR and Baby Care and scheduled for the childbirth class in 3 weeks
Going to order rocker/recliner and crib mattress today

My husband truly has OCD so everything is done. A friend is finishing painting the room now. We had 2 showers over the weekend and everything is washed and put away (Except for the things we may not use) We have 2 more showers coming up so all we need to do is get that stuff in it's place.
I got so worried reading posts about how early twins (Or any baby for that matter) can come I think it scared the both of us into getting everything ready.
EDIT: Main thing I am most happy about- we started ordering diapers and wipes a while ago from Amazon so we are pretty stocked up so far. That takes a big stress off too!
We have nursery pretty much done. We got the crib and dresser a while ago because we found a great deal on craigslist.
I am not buying anything else until I see what I get at my shower which is at the end of August.
Good luck!!!
my husband and i are pretty superstitious, but his family is even more so. my SIL didn't buy a car seat until she was 39+ weeks for her first baby. crazy to me!
anyway, we moved/bought a house in june, so before moving in we painted the nursery. i have purchased window treatments (thought not hung them, i still need rods), a DSNG and have a few baby items that were given to us (a tub, a swing, etc). this weekend we are going to the IL's where i plan to raid the hand-me-down boxes of infant clothes (these will be babies #7-8 in the family, so there are lots!).
i have picked out the nursery furniture and cribs, but my IL's are buying so i'm not sure when that will be ordered. i have asked my parents to pay for a closet remodel in the nursery b/c it desperately needs it, and to buy car seats. i want the car seats by 30-ish weeks, b/c i know how quickly things can change with twins around that time.
oh and we bought a TON of diapers this past weekend during the BRU sale.
I'm just over 30w, but this week I have been really focusing on getting the nursery together. We have all of furniture in there, but I just ordered a bunch of pictures and frames. My shower is this weekend, so my goal for the next few weeks is to just sort through everything and finish the nursery.
Done:
*nursery is painted (except for the closet trim-I need to go get the paint for that
)
*stroller/diaper bag purchased
*changing table assembled
*crib ordered-should arrive this week
*registry finished (my shower is in a month)
*signed up for birthing/infant cpr classes yesterday
*his closet is half full
Still to do:
*buy nursing bras, nightgowns (for hospital and end of pregnancy), granny panties for the hospital that I can throw out if they get ruined, and I need some yoga pants/capris/shorts for pregnancy and the few days/weeks after
*find/order/pick out a dresser
*pack hospital bag/diaper bag
*make freezer meels or at least stock up on meat and pantry items
*find new pads for the glider we purchased (got it off craigslist for $30 but the pads are pink)
I'm sure there is so much more but that's all my pregnancy-brain can think of at the moment!
I'm only 25 weeks...but w/ my blood clots it is really hard to walk around and shop! I've gotten most of the necessities, but also just purchased a pack+play b/c the babies will be sleeping in our room for a while. Once they get too big for the pack+play, we'll bring in one crib and have them continue to sleep with us. I think our nursery will be mainly used to store things for a while!
My DH was looking into classes last night -- I feel like w/ my situation, the newborn care and CPR/first aid class will really be the only benefit. We seriously need to get on it!!

IVF #1 - BFP - boy/girl Twins!
Ben and Reese born at 34w2d!
I am 27 weeks.
So far we have:
-registered at Babies R Us.
-gotten the crib, rug, and dresser, and bedding for the baby's room. We already own a rocker we are using in the nursery and we are keeping the walls the same color as we had already anticipated using the room for that purpose.
-bought a few little outfits...still working on this
-registered for our birthing classes/baby care basics class
-installed a ceiling fan in the baby's room.
In the next few weeks, I still need to figure out light blocking window treatments & reframe some pictures for that room, get our wills made, and finish up some of the projects we wanted to get done around the house before the baby comes (ie regrouting the bathroom floor!)

As you know, I completely understand how you feel. I'm not sure how to explain it but over the last couple of weeks I went from still being in fear that something bad will happen, to a different fear, that we wont be ready for his arrival. Its like my fear is still there but it's coming out in a different way. Trust me, even though I go in every 2 weeks to see MFM, I still am scared sh!tless that they will find something or that something may happen in between appts. I can't believe I'm as far as I am and not a complete wreck. I try to take comfort in knowing everything has been great so far, but I completely get that everyone works at their own pace. I truly truly wont be at peace until I have this LO in my arms (but then the worry begins but for different reasons).

What a great thread!
I've had one shower and we are in the process of adding a room onto the house so I don't think I can decorate the nursery until about the time they are born.
What I've done
Bought cribs, bedding, stroller
Picked out the nursery items and am ready to order them at any time
Taken a hospital tour (I'm not doing childbirth classes as I've done this before)
What I need to do
Get carseats - waiting on a few more showers
Find newborn photographer
Pick out names (eek!)
