  Vanessa Kearns Photography.  She did an amazing job.  Our son did not sleep for most of the shoot like most kids, yet she took the time to catch him during all of those cute times and when he took a brief nap.  Loved the photos!

  MrsJulieT is right. At 5w of age it's unlikely that you'll get the "traditional" newborn photos of the sleepy baby, unless your LO is a good and deep sleeper. However you will certainly be able to get an infant shoot that still shows just how little your baby is: little feet, hands, etc.

  On the bonus side that different type of shoot "might" be cheaper Some photographers charge extra for newborn shoots because of the additional setup/props (and of course required time). If this is something you don't want, you might be able to save some $$.

  You might want to check Red Tricycle for their photographer recommendations: https://www.redtri.com/san-francisco-favorites/san-francisco-baby-and-kids-photographers. That's how I contacted my photographer after my daughter was born. (Alas, the photographer moved to Seattle, so I can't recommend her directly.) I find that the site does a good job of vetting people though. Good Luck!
