Bestie is PG! Need gift basket recs :)

So my bestie just found out she is pg after several years of trying!!!! So I am wanting to put together a survival kit for the 1st tri thinking on getting preggie pops, sea bands, ginger ale and maybe make some ginger cookies, any other ideas?

She is planning on buying the What To Expect book so that is out, and I have thought about the Baby Bargains book but am not sure since that is a yearly updated book and she will not be due till next April/May if we should wait on that one

Maybe a pregnancy journal so she can keep track of her entire pregnancy. I did this and I am so glad I did!

You could also include the weekly stickers (I found them on etsy) so she can take pictures of her growing bump with the week on top of it!

baby name book?

what about a "what to expect the first year" (or whatever they call it) book. after i had O i wished that i had spent less time reading about the pregnancy, and more preparing for what was to come..all of those "is this normal?? moments".

if she is planning to breastfeed, i would give her a breastfeeding book. my breastfeeding class was useless.

i also agree with the pregnancy journal. she is probably beyond thrilled to be pregnant after all this time and will want to document every second.

When my best friend got pregnant, I got her a Nalgene bottle with straw (for all the water she needed to drink), the Baby Bargains book, body butter (for her itchy tummy), TUMs (for her heartburn), and Tylenol.

She actually just told me that Tylenol was recalled recently =/ so you should skip that.

I like the baby name book idea. maybe tums? I know in some ladies heartburn hit pretty early. Belly bars (they are nutrition bars), and depending on how close you are, panty liners (that discharge really became a b*tch fast!)

Maybe a pg workout dvd, bella band, pg magazine (w/ or w/out a subscription). Something like 40% of women don't get morning sickness so I wouldn't completely focus on that (unless you know she already has it of course).
