It's almost time... :-(
Do you use a cooler to pack bottles and food for daycare or do you just stuff everything in the diaper bag? I'm not sure mine will be large enough for 4-5 bottles, food, diapers/wipes, and extra clothes!
I looked at lunch bag type bags today and didn't see anything that looked tall enough for bottles. I don't want to buy another diaper bag if I don't have to...
Re: Packing for daycare
Since we did formula, we just did Drop in bottles for the baby sitter (2X a week) with a sport bottle filled with water and formula powder separate. It was just easier than pre-mixing formula and didn't have to be chilled. We have also used our Dr. Browns bottles pre-filled with water and all they had to do was toss in the formula and shake. They didn't mind fixing a bottle, and it saved me from having to have everything pre-made and the Bottles all fit in the diaper bag. I would sometimes show up with his morning bottle already pre-mixed since I knew he would be having it shortly after getting there to save them some time. Do your bottles have to be pre-made?
We just got a little insulated kids lunch box for his food (not a ton had to be refridgerated since we usually just used jars or pouches until he starting eating more solids and table foods).
We also have the regular diaper bag and the babysitter bag (which is just a giant tote). I wanted it to be a little bigger than my regular bag, and he wasn't really going to be going out and about, and that way I don't have to re-stock it every day and don't care if anything happens to it. I also stashed a few extra clothes, snacks, and all the other usual stuff.
We never did BM at DCP so we just brought enough formula for the day and drop in liners, DCP did all the mixing. Once we transitioned to WCM (whole cows milk) we had to bring our own but it went straight in the freezer so it was packed in the diaper bag.
The diaper bag got a little tight because we had to bring enough diapers for the day (she didnt store at her house) but after we adjusted to how many she was averaging we were able to conserve some room and not overpack. For clothes we packed 2 onesies and 1 pair of pants. Onesies seemed to need changing more often than pants Everyone at daycare shared wipes so we just had to bring one every once in a while when they were needed.
We started bringing a separate lunch box like this when we needed to pack food.
