DD now needs to wear a patch for one hour everyday on her left eye. Dr said eyes look healthy and great, she just has a little bit of astigmatism (spelling?) and should be patched for an hour. They suggested the sticky bandaid type, but I don't know how that won't hurt taking it off and on? Oh well, one day at a time, just glad she is healthy!
Re: Eye patching begins today..
Great news! I know you were worried about it.
No suggestions on patch types though. Good luck!
We'll miss you sweet Debbie Girl (4.21.12) and sweet Cindy Girl (8.9.12)

Our precious girl, born at 27 weeks.
We did a lot of patching with our DD. Both eyes, alternating every day for HOURS. And we did this for months and months. Different brands have different levels of sticky-ness, so you might have to try a few to find one you are comfortable with your LO.
One thing that we did to help get them off with no fuss was to wet the edges of them with a damp/wet washcloth or with a moist wipe for a minute or so before we tried to take them off. This loosened the adhesive and made it much easier. There is also a bit of a "technique" to pulling them off, and it is just something you learn as you do it. I had to "pull" gently with one hand on the patch and, at the same time, with the other hand I "pushed" her skin away from the patch ... if that makes any sense.
Good luck!
