Helmets- Insurance coverage

For those of you that needed to get helmets for their LO, does your insurance cover it? We just ordered his helmet today but I am very worried about the cost. I will find a way to pay it if I have to but it will be rough. Thanks!

    I was just talking about this with my coworker the other night, actually. Her pedi said not all insurance companies cover it. We have United and she said her daughters was covered 100%, but she did have to pay quite a bit of money up front. The insurance company did reimburse her fully, though.  HTH!

    Our insurance did not cover it, this was a little less than 3 years ago.  We paid out of pocket $3000.  We had Blue Cross in AZ.
