Pregnant after IF

update on me

(I apologize in advance for this being so long, apparently I?m babbling today.)

I had another u/s yesterday and everything is looking good.  The baby was measuring 8 weeks 2 days and had a heartbeat of around 154.  Unfortunately my SCH is still there and apparently I have a fibroid as well.

The doc didn't seem concerned about the fibroid and was more optimistic this week about the SCH.  The OB I saw last week was very gloom and doom about it and kept saying things like if it interrupts the pregnancy.  I'm still having some spotting and bleeding episodes but it is much lighter than anything I had before and it is very brown blood.  The SCH is very organized and not actively bleeding at this point, so this is all good news.

I have not been around much the last two weeks because the heat, morning sickness, and fatigue have been kicking my butt.  I'm so tired of throwing up and I am happy to report that I haven't thrown up since yesterday afternoon (which is a HUGE improvement).  The OB said it should let up soon, but I'll believe it when it happens.

I am also still having a hard time letting go of the anxiety and constant worry.  I keep waiting for it to get a little easier and have realized it prob won't.  I'm always going to be a worried mess.  8 weeks was a big milestone in my head because it is the farthest I have ever gotten, but every time I get to those milestones I have a new one in my head.  Right now I'm thinking about 10 weeks, and then 12.

I just have to stop the crazy and enjoy this.  So I have my first OB appt next week and my next scan will be at 12 weeks.  (not sure how I'm going to get through the next couple weeks without reassurances the baby is ok, I have had an u/s every week for the past 4 weeks at this point).

On a funny note, I'm already in maternity pants. Tongue Tied  My pants have been tight for about 2 weeks and now I have a clear bump that can't be blamed on bloat anymore.  I had to go out and buy some maternity pants this weekend to be able to have something to wear to work.  Basically the only thing I can wear are my skirts, sundresses, and new pants.  I'm blaming this on the fact that the surgeries I had in the past cut through all my stomach muscles making them still very weak, so my belly has nowhere to go but out.

I was hoping to be able to hide this at work for a couple more weeks but it doesn't look like that will happen.  Oh well.  Geeked

  • I'm glad baby is doing well but I'm so sorry you're struggling with everything! You have a lot going on with the SCH and the fibroid. I hope the SCH clears up soon and your sickness gets better. Thinking of you!

  • It's hard and while the nagging worry doesn't ever go away, it does get a little easier to get excited as you pass each milestone and get a little further along bit by bit.  I still wait for that other shoe to drop though, I think it's only natural after IF.  I hope the SCH and fibroid don't cause you any issues, it sounds like your doc isn't worried.  Glad to hear that baby is doing well!  Hope your m/s lets up soon!

  • I'm glad things are looking good with the pregnancy! That's great news. If it makes you feel better I was an absolute wreck in the first tri. I also had a SCH and I found it impossible to relax and enjoy pregnancy when I was spotting. It did get easier though. Hang in there - you're doing great.

  • sorry the SCH is stubborn, but I'm hoping after it clears up you have a wonderful rest of your pregnancy! It is hard not to worry, so don't beat yourself up about it. Hang in there sweetie!

  • Ugh, so sorry about the fibroid and SCH!!  I hope the sch resolves very soon.

I had a rough time in 1st tri with m/s, nausea, etc too.  It is awful!  I hope it passes for you very soon!

  • Ugh so sorry your having such a horrible time with m/s... hopefully this passes quickly!!

I don't think you ever get past the crazy anxiety/worrying. I said once I was past 12 weeks I would be not worried... HA! Not happening :)

I think we need to learn to deal with crazy worry cause we're gonna be momma's soon, and if there's one thing I know momma's do: It's worry about their LO's!

  • oh cutie, i hope the m/s subsides and you can begin to enjoy this pregnancy.  i can only imagine how scared you are but we're all pulling for you and your little one.
