Finding out Genders on Dec 2011

I lurkered over there and everyone is starting to find out what their LO is :)

I remember being so excited to find out and DD kept her legs together so we couldn't see. Then when the lady pushed on her bottom she crossed them lol. She wouldn't even let the lady get any measurements so we had to go back when I was 23 weeks I think. She finally let us see that she was a GIRL!!!

It's hard to believe it's already been a year since we were finding out what our LOs were.

  • awwwwwww exciting!!  I already *sort of knew* when I went to the Dr. to get my scan there.  (wink wink-if you knew where I worked you'd catch my drift) but we went in with *boy* and when the tech at the office scanned me she was like well I'm going to say 80% girl but let me keep looking around because its being a little stubborn, then she chaged it to 75% boy, so needless to say I left the Dr's office & headed straight to work. haha.

  • My best friend is due in January 2012 and she was supposed to find out today!!  The Dr. who was supposed to do the scan got called into surgery or something though, so they had to reschedule for next wednesday.  I'm sure she's super bummed to have to wait.  :(
I used to be a big deal.  Now I'm just old.
  • I remember this part too! It was August 2nd. Exactly 5 months before DS was born.

Just a question... did technology advance a lot in the past year? I have a FB friend who said she is having a boy when she was 13 weeks. This is her first pregnancy... Does this seem too early to anyone else?

  • We were just talking last night about how it was just about a year ago we found out.  My MIL and my sister came with DH and me to see the u/s (funny, since they ended up being the people actually there when DS was born--first to see him inside me, first to see him outside me, lol).  I remember standing outside my ob/gyn's office with my sister talking about how crazy it'd be to have a little boy in the family.

We were SURE we were going to have a girl. We were shocked to find out it was a boy ;) It was kind of funny... we were so excited and chatteriing away all morning about how excited we were to find out, then we went to the appointment, found out, and for the rest of the day we were really quiet, just kind of processing things, thinking about a BOY in our future :)

When we went for our NST scan at 14 weeks we found out we were having a boy.  It was VERY obvious...so obvious that I asked if that was a penis and the ultrasound tech said I am not allowed to say this early in gestation and then she circled it and wrote on the screen "not a girl!" LOL.   We got confirmation that it was a boy at the anatomy scan at 20 weeks (July 23rd) and then again at 39 weeks when I went for a growth scan prior to my induction.

I was 13 weeks when I found out.  During the NT scan, I asked the tech if she could tell.  She said she wasn't really supposed to say anything so early, but she was 90% sure it was a boy.  We went back at 17 weeks (I think), and she confirmed it!

My friend is having a boy due Jan. 1 and she went 2 weeks ago and got a 3-D at one of those ultrasound businesses.  Perhaps your friend did the same?

  • Last night I was thinking back to this time last year.  We found out on July 28th that E was a boy.  I remember that day so clearly.  We had a list of boy/girl names we were interested in and at that appt we decided on his first name a few minutes after we had the anatomy scan.  So fun!  Almost makes me want to have another one really soon. Almost.

  • Awww, I'm so excited for them! I was just remembering yesterday that it was July 22 last year that we found out we were having a boy. I'm tearing up just thinking about it again. I walked out of there like I was floating on a cloud & spent the whole drive home saying over & over again, "we're having a BOY!"

We found out exactly one year ago today as well.  Seems like it was yesterday.   It is crazy that now my little girl is sitting next to me, playing and laughing.  Time flies.

I feel this way too! I don't know what I would do if I was having another one right now!!!

That does seem early.. I found at 15 weeks though, at one of those pay-for-ultrasound places. They claimed to be able to detect as early as 14 weeks so I guess it's not tooooo far off.

We did too, we went to a place in Costa Mesa I think.  We were 13 weeks as well.
