meeting daycare provider prior to start

I am a teacher and when I go back to work in Sept, my daughter will be in daycare 1 day a week (the other 4 are my husband and my mother) and 1 week when my mother is on vacation.  My husband and I have met and interviewed the provider and toured her house (in-home provider).  I am wondering if I should bring the baby there to meet with her before she starts there on sept 9.

    I took LO over our providers house on Saturday. It was so re-assuring for me to see her interacting with him and how at ease he was with her. I know it is still going to be ROUGH dropping him off for the first time and having to leave him but I know he is in very good hands. If I can I also plan on dropping him off for an hour or two the week before I go back to work next month.

    I'm a teacher as well and when my son first started day care I brought him with me to interview so he'd met her that time and then during teacher work days when he was there I made myself available at lunch time if she thought it was a good idea. Some days I stopped by and others I didn't, depending how the day was going.

    I did. The week before I went back to work I would take Jake there for about an hour and stayed with him.  They told me he cried anyway that week, so I'm not sure it helped him? But, it can't hurt.

    It does get easier...GL

    I'm a teacher, too. I brought DD for an hour and stayed with her on Thursday. The next day, I left her for a few hours while I went to an appointment. She officially started the following week. Doing it this way made me feel better about the transition.

    I'm home with DD this summer, so she doesn't go to day care, but we did visit our home daycare provider for a couple of hours a couple weeks ago. We'll probably visit one more time before I return to school in the fall.
