We really like older not so common used names. I just came up with it one day, after seeing it oin a store logo. before we were even ttc and asked DH what he thought, he loved it. And we never really gave it a second thought, if our third was a girl she would be Opal.,

I've wanted to use it for years. DH hasn't been sold on it for a FN until this week and he magically, out of nowhere, is coming around If we don't use it for a FN it will definitely be a MN.
When we told my grandmother (who is the most precious 98 year old) that we wanted to have Opal as part of the name if it was a girl after her, she responded "well there definitately won't be another on the block".
Thanks, we are kind of still debating on the middle name though. DH's brother's wife is due a day after us with their first and when we announced yesterday we were having a girl, they told us their girl name which has the same middle name. It's a family name, but I was already on the fence about it anyhow, so now I'm kind of not loving it, but can't find anything that I like better to go with Opal. So we will just wait to see what BIL is having, they find out friday.
I hope you get to use it as a first name, it really is beautiful and not commonly used!
