I am starting to freak a little because Gabe has a follow-up at the special care clinic next Wed. They will likely be taking him off the monitor. It scares the crap out of me for it to be gone. I seriously wonder if I will get any sleep at night. We have an angelcare. So, we need to hook it up. But, I like the security of knowing that the one attached to his body will pick things up. I know the angelcare can be influenced by lots of things (fans, baby moving off the pad, etc).

Re: So, as much as I hate the monitor
We have ACs but also the Snuza Halo diaper clips...these are nice for when they aren't in bed! We still double up at night and use the ACs and Halos for extra peace of mind. Might be worth looking into!
https://www.snuza.com/index.phpI know exactly how you feel!! We just ordered the Snuza Go! We used it for the first time last night and love it!! It is small and clips onto the diaper. I was surprised by the ease of use. It's great for us since Sophia sleeps in her Rock and Play Sleeper because of reflux, so we can't use the Angel Care with that.
You may want to look into the Snuza. The Snuza Halo is around $110-$130. We bought the Snuza Go! for $80. The biggest difference in the two is the Snuza Halo vibrates after 15 seconds of no movement, then alarms if no movement is detected after the vibration. The Snuza go only alarms (does not vibrate). You can set it to alarm after 15, 18, or 20 seconds.
Good Luck!! It is nice not to be anchored down by the monitor!!
