and what happens to the capsule if you insert it vaginally?

I bought it at my grocery store in the organic/natural section. If you insert it vaginally, It just dissolves and in my experience, drips out if you are not laying down.

I bought it at Walmart, and when I use it vaginally I use it as a lubricant before sex (midwife suggested this) So I poke a hole in it and squeeze it in. Other than that I take 4 by mouth every day (2 at a time am / pm)

I bought gelcaps on Amazon (love me some Amazon :-D). I melted one under warm/hot water before I stuck it in my vag, just because I wanted to see what it would do... it melts
