cleaning bottle brushes

Love my oxo bottle brush, but it's started to discolor at the base of the bristles (mold? rust?).  I've tried the dishwasher, the steam cleaning bags, boiling, vinegar and baking soda.... how do I clean this damn thing? Seems like a waste to throw it out, especially because it works so well, but it's getting grungy!

  • Honestly, it sounds like you may just have to toss it and get a new one.  We went through multiple bottle brushes.  They just don't last.

This! I believe most of the packages even say to replace every 30 days.

Boo :(  It's not even the $5 I'm mad about, it's all such a waste of plastic and resources.  Drives me nuts that such heavy plastics are MEANT to be thrown out.

  • Time for a new one, it sounds like. We have the Dr. Browns one and it's great. Holds up really well to being run through the dw everynight.
