I am just starting my 2nd trimester and have already started to question daycares. I am anticipating that the baby will be in daycare around 7-8 weeks. If this is the case, when should I start the search for a daycare provider? I am concerned about waitlists in the Philadelphia area. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
Re: When to look to for a Daycare...
You should start visiting and get yourself on a wait list as soon as possible. I started when I was 20 weeks pg and didn't get DD into the daycare I wanted until she was 4.5 months old (this was the first opening they had). So the earlier, the better. Most places will make you put a deposit on your spot if you are on their list, so shop around and find a couple places you like.
ASAP! Its never too early!!
I got on waiting lists in the first trimester. We only got a spot in 1 daycare and that was a fluke. Our top choice literally just called me a week or so ago with an opening...I'd been on their list for almost a year.
