What did my OB disturb up there?

So, today I had a progress check which included an internal.  I have been bleeding now all day.  I assumed that I would have some cervical irritation with a little blood (though I didn't have any last week), but this is crazy.  I actually had to change underwear because I was ill-prepared.

I'm not calling them because I figure this is normal, but at what point should I expect to see this stop?  Are things really that sensitive at this stage?

    Hm, I was told that spotting lasting up to 24 hours is fine, but if it's heavy bleeding, you might want to call. I hope it either stops soon or you go into labor!
