so without thinking i filled our new kiddie pool last night so the water would heat up. it was dirty when i got up this morning. i refilled it thinking an animal had gotten in and by the time i went out again it was dirty. i refilled it and then got in with charlotte. when we got out five or ten minutes later her clothes had a little rust stain on them. then the water slowly turned dirty looking while we sat outside and played. i realized then it was just the rust in our well water and after looking the pipes that lead to the hose dont go through the filter.
does anyone else have well water that does this. is it still safe to take a baby in. oi have a ped appt on friday so i can ask him then, but i was curious if any of you had rust in you water and still took lo in it.
sorry for the formatting, i am on my phone
Re: rust in water question
That's just iron oxidizing. It's safe, just not pretty.
If you're on well water, you should get it tested for safety before you let the baby have tap water. Make sure the nitrates/nitrites are okay, as well as pathogens.Things which adults will tolerate fine can bother a baby.
