NBR: San Jose Rock n Roll 1/2 Marathon

I know some of you have run this race in the past.  Care to share your thoughts on the race?  The good the bad?  I am not looking to PR, but rather just want a "gentle course"  (I am thinking about starting up my training again after a rather lengthy running hiatus due to my hip injury and using this as my goal race).  Thanks!

    SUPER fun race!! A little crowded for the first mile or so as the runners spread out but overall a flat course (one slight incline that I remember, as you run under an overpass) with a lot of onlookers/crowds to cheer you on. The bands were hit or miss and you really only hear them, loudly, as you run by. 2bearichards and I are running it again for the second time this year. GL!!

    It is a fun, easy (read: no hills, flat) course. Lots of bands to keep you motivated and I really enjoyed running through my neighborhood.  FWIW-I did not care about PR either...I just wanted to FINISH.

    Its a good course. Its mostly flat and wide enough to accommodate the large number of people running it. I think its a very good course for you if you want gentle.

    Yes, I would definitely describe this course as gentle.  It's probably the easiest course I've ever run (although it's all concrete, which is a little rough on the joints, if that makes a difference to you).  But overall I've felt like this race has been very well-run, logistically.

     It might be a little outdated, though... I'm pretty sure they have tech shirts now, instead of cotton.

    I ran it pre-pregnancy/kids so it has been 5 years, but it's a great run and I'm planning to do it this year as my goal race (just to finish, no PR here either).
