Those of you getting an IUD...a ?

What do you plan on doing for bc between now and when you get the IUD?

My MW says I can't get it until 10weeks PP but we are all cleared for sex and there's no way I'm getting DH to wait until 10 weeks for sex. lol.

I definitely don't want to take the pill for just one month to fill the gap and I guess condoms are an option but if  there are any better ideas, I'd love to hear them! So what are you planning on doing to fill the gap between now and IUD implant?

    My dr will place the mirena at 10-12 wks pp. We will prob go back to pulling out. It's what we did after going off bc but prior to ttc. I know it's not 100% but not much is and I'm allergic to the spermicide in condoms.

    I'm getting my IUD this weekend so we've just been using condoms since I was cleared last week.

    We've decided to risk it.  I'm still BF'ing.  I know there's still a low chance of getting pregnant, but we've decided it's a chance we're going to take.

    I had the Mirena before and will most likely get it again.

    I used condoms. I had my IUD placed last week at 8 weeks pp. My doc would have done it at 4 weeks pp but I was having bladder problems and didn't want to deal with anything else. GL with you BC options.

    For those of you not using a reliable method, I hope your doctor was clear that you then need to abstain for 2 weeks before placement. They should do a UPT and it needs to be accurate - it would be dangerous to have an IUD placed while pregnant.

    We'll be using condoms. You can get them w/o spermicide or lubricant, FWIW.

    I started taking the pill at 4 weeks PP and am having the IUD put in at 8 weeks PP. It's totally worth the inconvenience for me.

    I'm getting the Mirena placed tomorrow.  We had sex 2 times, using the pull out method, between my 6 week checkup and a nurse calling me and telling me that I had to wait two weeks from having intercourse.  We waited and today I went for a blood pregnancy test.

    No problem! We put IUDs in at the clinic where I work :)

    Probably just condoms- the pill doesn't take effect right away and hopefully I'll have the IUD in the next 4 weeks, I'd like it in before I go back to work...
