Re: do you pick out baby names?

  • We already have a pair of names picked out, so it isn't that bad

  • we have girls names picked out, but we are having a hell of a time picking out boy names that we can agree.  the "good" news is that it appears that we have PLENTY of time : - (

  • i hate to sound so negative, but with last ivf cycle, we did half icsi, half natural and NONE of the natural fertilized.  i think our odds of getting pg naturally are like 1%.  but thanks for being the optimist :  )

  • We have names picked out, my husband has loved the name Elizabeth since we were dating so thats always been the pick for the girl...and after years of ttc we have two picked out. Boy: Noah Matthew....Girl: Elizabeth Grace. It doesn't make it any harder having names picked out...we associate our future baby by those names.

  • Jewish custom has you naming after deceased relatives.  I've known some names I wanted to use since before I was married.  And, since we've been TTC, we've lost some very close relatives.  Sadly, I have enough names to have quads of either sex.
  • We pretty much know what we'll name our children, but almost all of our choices ar efamily names, so there's not much room for discussion/debate. For example, both of our fathers have passed away, so we know if we ever have a boy he will be named after both of them.
  • We do, only because DH and I have been together since high school so we talked about fun stuff like that.  Also, when you first start trying you never imagine you're going to be "here" so picking out names doesn't seem so "wrong". We've liked Hailey Kate forever, but now are learning strongly towards Audrey Kate. I love the name Audrey. For a boy it's definitely Lucas (Luke) Joseph (Joseph after my grandpa).
  • We have a list of names we made about a year ago before we realized we were going to have problems conceiving.  Slowly we've been crossing names off the list as our friends have had babies and "stole" our names, even though they never knew they "stole" them!

  • Whenever DH and I have a long car ride, our favorite thing to discuss is baby names.  We have our girl name, Sophia Margaret, and our boy name, Henry Joseph. They are both family names.  We recently picked out twin names too!

  • I've had my girl name picked out since college.

  • We've already got names picked.  Man, it's a little hard to think of the fact that we picked them almost a year ago. ?

ditto! we've picked names long before we even thought about having children. Slowly, names are being crossed off, but new ones are being added. Hopefully I won't have to cross those off too!

  • We've had ours picked out (or at least discussed) since before we were married.

We've already had one name taken by friends (fortunately we love other girl names more) but some other friends are talking about using the ONLY boy name we both love -- Sebastian. DH got so upset. I told him we could use it anyway!

  • I don't have a list of baby names, but if we hear a name we like, we make a mental note of it.

  • Yes, we already have ours picked out. I don't know if it's unhealthy and I don't care, lol.
