Art Storage/Display

I know many of you take pictures and make photo/blurb books of your babe's artwork. Are you guys keeping any hard copies? If so, how are you storing/organizing them? By kid, by year? What are you doing with the bulkier items (play doh ornaments, pine cone artwork, tiles, small votive candle holders, etc)?

    I have kept some of his X-mas and holiday stuff. I keep it with all the other holiday stuff since the plan is to display it each year. My mom had a "hope chest" with our baby and art things in it but our place isn't big enough for something like that.

    Hmmmm...a hope chest might work. I was hoping someone had come up with an ingenious storage/display system or method similar to the popular cafe curtain rod for bigger items!! Heh. The boys bring home so much art from school that I want to have somewhere/a way to store the nicer, more special pieces.

    I saw a great idea on a design show. An artist scanned in kids' artwork, and then shrunk it down to go in one frame. There are some picture here:  https://janeleni.com/    (click on collages)

    Once you have it saved, you might not feel guilty getting rid of some of it, and clearing out space. :)

    I can't figure out how to link it right now (must be that I need sleep) but Google Martha Stewart scrap box and I plan on doing this with some of the boys' works of art. Another thought I had was to do a small hope chest later on as well.

    Oh, that is gorgeous!! LOOOOOVE her kids rooms in the second gallery. So fun!!

    I have a large art portfolio meant for kids art that I put special pieces in.  It's like an accordian file with handles.  I got it on clearance at Michael's.  And then DH got me a keepsake box that I use to store 3d things I want to keep.  I also am a liberal recycler. ;)  Not everything is a master piece and needs saving.
