Reid is my 24 week preemie. We went for follow up clinic appointment yesterday. Good and bad but nothing we didn't expect.
Overall he is right on target for his adjusted age and looks good. He still has his g tube, he eats solids but doesn't take much from a bottle. He has some low tone on his right side (I all ready have the ball rolling for PT to come to the house, we just have OT right now).
He also needs to gain more weight. He has been fighting constipation throughout the last month and really spitting up. I think we've finally figured out what is causing it. He was prescribed an antibiotic for some kidney reflux (it was preventative for any infections). When my husband forgot to give it to him (he gets it only at bedtime) he spent an entire day pooping. His stomach isn't distended or hard and we gave him some pear juice/water the other day and he pooped really well yesterday. We've taken him off the antibiotic and we'll see how he does.
They gave him another antibiotic the first time but it would hit his stomach and he would throw it up. Doesn't seem like these antibiotics agree with him.
We were really pleased overall and don't have to go back for 6 months! Last week he say his eye doctor and he doesn't have to go back until he is 3 years old (he's 9 months actual right now 6 adjusted).
Am very thankful that we have an awesome pediatrician we works with us as well. Please put us on the prayer list for Friday. He goes to his orthopedic surgeon and should get to wear his boots and bar only at night (wears them 23 hours right now).
TIA
