Missouri Babies

Summit Waves

We're looking for something fun to do with DS (2 1/2) & a friend's 4 & 6 yr olds in a few weeks. Has anyone been to Summit Waves park in Lee's Summit? It looks fun for the older kids but didn't know if it would be too big and crazy for my sometimes fearful 2 1/2 yr old. We've been meaning to take him to a parent & kid water basics class but haven't found one that works with our work schedules yet, so he hasn't had much water exposure.

Re: Summit Waves

  • Hi there,  I am fairly new to KC so I couldn't help with the question about Summit Waves.  I've seen people sit in the shallow pools and the toddler wears inflatable vests or arm cuffs.  That should be low enough water for your LO to get used to. Always be by their side until they get comfortable. Good luck and have fun!

  • Our daughter takes swim classes there every Saturday. :)  They have a wave pool that would be fine for the young kids, slides, and a smaller children play area with an in-water playground with slides and surrounded by a kiddy pool.  It would be prefect for any child over the age of 2.  Another (indoor) option would be Legacy Park Community Center/ Fitness center because they have an indoor play area for kids as well.
