  Hard to say. We had an Ellaroo when DD was born and she outgrew it quickly (not enough fabric to wrap around to support her head). We moved on to the Ergo from there, but I really wished we'd had a wrap that could have worked with a bigger infant. I didn't have time to research anything then, but if we have another one, I definitely want to look into getting another wrap besides the Ellaroo. I don't know if it will be a Moby or what, but everyone I know who has a Moby loves it.

  I can't do assymetrical carries (back injury) so a ring sling would never work for me. It would be some kind of wrap all the way.

  There is a used red one for sale on Spots Corner right now for $15.  There area  few others for more money too.  They aren't mine (not trying to market something :-) but just wanted to let you know in case you want to try it without a big investment.

  Moby wraps are awesome for brand newbies :-)  Especially if you are due in the winter!  They are so snuggly, and with this being your second, I'm sure you'll appreciate the carriers earlier this time.  I'd go for it :-)

  I loved my Moby w/ DS (born in Nov), but he was a pretty big baby and by 2 mo I was looking for something more supportive. While I would use a Moby again, since I have the woven wraps, I will just use them... so, if you think you might want a wrap for longer term (read heavier baby/toddler and for a warmer season) then I would invest in a woven. The problem w/ the woven is they can be expensive up front (but have good re-sell value and obviously last a long, long time). You can find a used one on thebabywearer.com FSOT forum as well as a moby or stretchy type wrap. I wish I would have just gone for the woven first, but I did love it and used it all the time the first 2 mo., and I was able to sell it locally on craigslist.   I wouldn't say you *need* one, but I definitely recommend them to everyone. I absolutely love my Moby wrap! It definitely has a learning curve, but once you get a hang of it- it's awesome. I like that it's really easy to store, wash, and is somewhat versatile (I sound like such a commercial, hah).

  Thanks, ladies.  I think I'm going to pass on the Moby and see how the Beco and mai tai are with an infant.  Maybe I'll try a woven if this LO really likes being held all the time.

  I liked the wrap because it didn't really "feel" like I was wearing anything.  More comfortable than a "carrier"
