Cloth Diapering

Cloth wipe solution? Or just use water

Our little guy is finally big enough that we are going to start using our cloth diapers!  Yay!

We are going to use cloth wipes too.  Do you just use water or do you use a solution?

I have a peri bottle that I could just put water in.  But, having pre-moistened wipes sounds a little more convenient to me.   Maybe a spray bottle would be better and faster than the peri bottle though.

  • I wet 4-6 at a time and put them in DD's wipes warmer. I add a few drops of tea tree oil when I add new wipes.

  • I just use water.  I keep a spray bottle on the changing table and spray a wipe when I need one; it just takes a second.

  • I've used both the premoistened wipes and peri bottle methods but have discovered that my DD has sensitive skin and if I don't use some aveeno baby wash in the wipes water her skin gets irritated from not getting clean enough. Well, this is a theory I have, anyways, and she's been irritation free for the last few days so, I'm going with it for now lol. Lots of people use plan water though so just give it a try and see what works!

  • I keep the wipes dry, and when needed wet them  under the bathroom tap.

  • I use a spray bottle, and wet as needed. Our butt wash is a mixture of water, aveeno baby wash, and some baby oil with aloe. DD has sensitive skin, and this works really well for her.

  • We just use water in a spray bottle.  I tried to use a peri bottle, but it just made a mess anywhere.  For some reason, the wipes didn't absorb the droplets of water from the peri bottle...

  • I use a spray on dry wipes.  We just finished a bottle of Rainforest Babies and we're now using Thirsties Booty Luster.  I just spray some on his bum and wipe with a dry wipe.  Works like a charm for us.  Will has sensitive skin and we haven't had any break out/rash problems with either!

We just started doing this. Before, we just used plain water.

  • we really like kissaluvs wipe spray. We get the concentrate and mix it with water. I tried water only and I didnt care for it. Kissaluvs spray seems to keep his tushie a lot softer, smells better too.

    • I purchased the wipe solution drops that you melt in hot water.   I have a wipes warmer and keep the wet wipes in there.  Been doing this for two months and I haven't had any problems with building up or repelling.   Gets her bottom super clean too.
