So next Tuesday I have my first u/s. I will be 6 weeks 3 days at that point. Just wondering if we will be able to hear the HB at all and/or what to expect. Most of you guys have been there so I thought I'd ask! TIA!
You might be able to see the heartbeat. From what I understand, and someone can correct me if I am wrong, you really can't 'hear' the heartbeat until later, when the doppler may be used - but if you 'hear' it early, it is just a simulated sound that tracks the visual image?
And, if you don't see it, don't panic yet! 6 weeks 3 days is kinda early!!!!

I don't believe that God ever tells us "no". he has three options. Yes, not right now, or I have something better in mind. We just have to wait & see.
My guess is that you will see it...but if you don't, it isn't cause for concern. With DD, we saw it at 6w2d. With #2, we saw it at 6w1d. Congratulations and good luck!
Brought to you by IVF, ICSI, limited fert, and oocyte cryopreservation. Because we're fancy like that.
you *might* be able to see/hear the h/b at that point. i was able to see/hear both h/bs at 6w4d, but my RE had really prepped me beforehand that it might not happen.
so if you don't see/hear it, don't worry! it might just be too early

I was not able to "hear" the hb at my 6w2d appt (mainly because my RE's machine was not capable of audio) BUT we were able to SEE the hb at that appt. It is great to hear it, but seeing it is just as reassuring!
Good luck!
After 18 months TTC, our 2nd IUI brought us our BFP!
Stick baby stick!
My RE's u/s machine doesn't do audio, so I wasn't able to hear the HB but we did see it at our first u/s at 6w exactly. Just be prepared that you may not see it until around 7w, so if you don't see it yet it's not the end of the world. But hopefully you will, good luck!

I think you might be able to but don't worry if you aren't able to see/hear it that day. We waited until 7 weeks to do the u/s to look at heartbeat. RE wanted it done sooner because he likes weekly u/s, but I told him I wanted to wait until 7 weeks so we'd be sure to see heartbeat. Didn't want any unnecessary worrying!
