Pregnant after IF

HPT question for you lovely ladies

So, I was 12 dpiui last night and my beta is scheduled tomorrow (at 14dpiui). Rather then pay a 20 dollar copay just to find out I'm not pregnant I decided to get a cheapie HPT from Price Chopper. I had very low hopes for this cycle since we only got 2.5 million up there during my IUI and DH has been in too much pain to BD.

So last night I took a cheapo HPT and saw the faintest of faint line. However, I tried not to get hopes too high since it was so faint it almost looked like I just saw the indentation of a line where the blue would show up if I were KU. I took one again this morning with FMU and still got a faint line, however this time the test line was faint too. Decided to do a digital and it said "not pregnant".

My question to you ladies is have you ever had that happen with a pee stick? It almost looks like the line is just an indentation of where it would be in color if there were enough HSG.

Re: HPT question for you lovely ladies

  • My 1st cheapy did the same thing. I went & bought a First Response (not digital) & saw a very dark line.

    Good luck!!

  • The digital test may require a higher amount of HSG than a cheaper test. I would still do a beta tomorrow & good luck to you!
  • Have a look at peeonastick.com  - yes it's a real website. Is your test at the Dr. a blood test or just urine? Did you inject a trigger shot (HCG)?

If it's a blood test, then it's probably worth the $20 to get an answer!

    Good luck!

  • I would skip the digitals, they're usually not as sensitive to HCG.  Get a FRER (non-digital, non-yes/no, the kind with 2 pink lines) and use that tonight.  And keep your appt for a beta, that's the only official way to know!

The first test I took did the same thing! I tested again the next morning and it got a tiny bit darker. By the fourth day it was alot darker. Good luck!! Wishing you a BFP on your beta!
  • Ditto to getting a FRER.  They are the most sensitive.  The digitals require more hcg in your urine to be positive and you're still pretty early.  Good luck!  It sounds like you are KU!!!
