I was under the impression that I would get an estimated due date at my first appt which was at 8w4d.
He did not tell me anythign about EDD and I spaced out and did not ask. I figured out what it will be using the many online due date calculators.
I will be sure to ask about that at my next appt in 3 weeks but wanted to know when you all were given your EDD?
ps. I am on an expat assignment for work abroad right now and dealing with a French doc so not sure if that's just how they do this here or if it's the same in the US and you don't find out till later when the baby is bigger. 1st prego for me so I am clueless.
Re: When did your doc set your due date?
If you were not charting and have not had a dating u/s (which is really not as common as it sounds on this site), then your doc is most likely going by your LMP (which is what the online calculators are doing).
Most likely they will continue going by that date until they are given a reason otherwise. It is very much the common practice.
love is for every her, love is for every him, love is for everyone
My doctor said essentially the same thing as PP. They base your initial due date on your LMP. Then when you have your first u/s they might change it.
BFP 3.8.16 EDD 11.20.16
My doc set my EDD on the day I went in to have them confirm pregnancy... but I'd already calculated it myself from charting -- O-date plus 38 weeks. The doctor confirmed my methods, agreed with my evaluation of when I ovulated, and set my "official" EDD to the date I gave her.
I'm guessing your doctor calculated the EDD and just forgot to tell you.
But if you know when you O'd, you can figure it out yourself from that! (Much better than your LMP date!)

And when we went today they changed our due date from February 14th to March 14th! I knew my cycles were wacky, I just didn't realize they were THAT wacky.
