My pedi said something that annoyed me

And I know it's not a big deal, but it really did bother me. She said something along the lines of 'now youre getting rewarded for the first 6 weeks of her life.' because she's smiling and interacting, etc.

I've felt rewarded since the moment I found out I was pregnant, and that feeling grew on her birthday. I know I'm lucky because compared to some, I have an extremely easy infant. But I never once thought that this moment is better then her newborn ones. I dunno, the comment just rubbed me the wrong way.

On a more humerous note she thought I called my baby obese, when I called her "a beast" because she's gain 3lbs and 2" in a month, lol. She then lectured me about how we cant put babies on diets... haha

My overly happy baby girl!

Re: My pedi said something that annoyed me

  • Meh, that wouldn't bother me. I say that all the time as a joke! I wouldn't think too deeply about the comment.

I call Ashley a beast too! That, and my little "porkchop":). In 3 weeks she went from 8 lbs to just under 12 lbs!

  • I say the same thing.  I remember my pedi with my daughter saying it was "finally getting a return on your investment" haha.

  • I think sometimes they say stuff to be humerous....
And it doesn't always sound as funny as they intend.

If it makes you feel ANY better at all LO's pedi told me that she wasn't "efficent" because she likes to take her time eating. If she wasn't an efficent eater she wouldn't be gaining weight, correct? Confused

    Silly doctors.

  • My OB kind of said something that rubbed me the wrong way at my 6wk visit. DH was feeding the baby and as he was leaving after my checkup, he said "Remember, that's your baby, not his." I don't know if he meant that she looks like me or if DH shouldn't be taking care of the baby? But whatever.

WTH is that supposed to mean? what a weird thing to say.
Am I totally wrong in thinking it takes two to make a baby?
