too hot to go jogging?

I was planning on going running this evening with DS in the jogging stroller...

I was thinking about going at around 8pm, and the weather channel says it will still be 87degrees outside.. Do you think that will be too hot to go with DS?

P.s. I usually I give him 1-3 ounces of water on the days I do go running with him.

WDYT?

Re: too hot to go jogging?

  • How long are you planning on going for?  A short 30 min run I would think he would be fine, any longer then I would ensure that I ran a loop very close to home in case he started to get too warm.

  • Not sure about humidity there, but that would be too hot here in Tampa.  I take LO jogging along the water which has a nice breeze, but anything over about 83, her face gets red and she gets really sweaty and irritable.  But like I said, our himidity is awful!

  • Temp wise I think it would be ok for 30 min or so. Do y'all have the smoke from the swamp fires up there? That's the only reason I haven't been out running with K and the boys (they ride their bikes so they get hot for sure!). Have fun!!

  • Kape, yes in some areas we have thick smoke, but not where I was planning on going jogging.

...So I went at about 8:30 and it was actually not too bad, there was a nice breeze, and I got 2 miles in...yay!! (but it took about 25 minutes..boo...)

And DS enjoyed it the whole time and now he is sleeping soundly.

I always feel better after a run.
