Can't stop reading the birth stories

Anyone else do this? I seem to have developed an obsession with reading the stories on that board. It reminds me a lot of when we were first TTC and I'd read all the accounts of girls getting their BFPs. It's like I think their stories will somehow tell me when I'm going to give birth.

*raises hand* I read that board too. And the Natural Birth board as well. I hope to go med free....but am open to meds if I feel I need it. I think it will come down to whether the pain outweighs the fear of the big-ass needle being stuck in my back!

I also plan to play it by ear. I figure I have NO IDEA what's going to happen or how it'll feel so I don't want to get my mind set on any one thing.

Yeah...I hear ya there. I'm hoping for a quick, pain free birth. Realistically, I know that probably won't happen. I can tolerate pain...but really don't like it. Like you said, I have no idea what it will actually be like, so I'm open to what they may have to offer!

I love reading the birth stories too.

Just wanted to cheer you girls on. I went natural with my first and plan to this time as well. : ) I'm a little more nervous this time because we're being induced on the 3rd and a pitocin birth scares the crap outta me ... but it CAN be done!

Just remember to open up your mind, take each contraction as it comes, and surround yourself with people who support your decision of natural/pain med free!! : )

OMGosh, my first pregnancy with DD I read all the birth stories. All.Of.Them! This time I haven't even trotted over there once. I guess I know exactly what kind of birth I'll have this time because of the way last birth went :-/ I'm having a planned c-section unless I magically go into labor on my own by 39 weeks.

I'm kind of the opposite, I don't want to hear the birth stories just yet. I know Graydon has to come out at some point but I'm not ready to think of that just yet. I am really excited about meeting him but the whole birth experience scares the you know what out of me.

Ditto this! I'm still just not thinking about the whole labor part of things right now. Though I have checked out the Natural Birth board for any water birth stories, since I want to know what types of things to ask my OB at my next visit. They offer water birth at the hospital I'm delivering at, and I'm interested in seeing what it all entails.

I'm cackling out loud. I thought I was the only one!!!!

Some terrify me, but most of them make me cry. No matter how ugly, everyone always says something about how much they love their LO.
