Sucessful IUI's ~ Question for you ladies

Hello, peaking in from 3TC.  I was wondering what the timing of your IUI's were?

I have too much time on my hands and I've been doing the math, how long after the trigger shot your supposed to ovulate, and then how long it takes the sperm to get there, etc.  Last cycle we TI, and I followed the doctors orders, but I think we didn't time it right.  And now DH wants to try IUI and from what I've learned the timing just doesn't make sense to me.  So I thought I would ask you lovely ladies when your IUI was scheduled, and if you TI as well, since it obviously worked. Smile

    I believe you usually ovulate 24-36 hrs after the trigger. My successful iui was only 14hrs after the trigger because DH had to go out of town. Sperm can live for several days so timing doesn't have to be perfect. GL this cycle!

    My RE has me trigger 24 hours prior to my IUI. It takes about 36 hours to ovulate after the trigger and the sperm can live for several days and the egg lives for a day or so.

    Basically, we did the IUI about 12 hours before I ovulated so the sperm were waiting and then DH and I did the BD that night and the next morning as well. My IUI was at about 8 am and I felt ovulation pains around 7 pm that evening.

    Me: 33, Hypothalamic Amenorrhea, DOR (AMH .35), DH: 38, Borderline low morph
    5/09- Off BCP, 5/09-9/09- No period, 9/09-9/10- Lots of Tests & accupuncture
    10/10 and 11/10- 2 rounds of Menopur + TI= BFNS
    12/10-IUI #1 Menopur = BFN
    1/11- IUI #2 Menopur = BFP, 2/11 missed mc at 9 weeks, D&C
    5/11- Operative Hysteroscopy to remove uterine septum
    6/11- IUI #3 Menopur = BFP, 8/11 missed mc at 11 weeks, D&C
    1/12- Lap and Operative Hysteroscopy to remove uterine septum (again) & scar tissue
    2/12- Stint Removal, 3/12 repeat SHG and HSG- showed scar tissue blocking right tube
    4/12- Operative hysteroscopy (again), RE said he can now see right tube (yay!)
    5/12- Stint removal, 6/12 repeat SHG and HSG-both tubes are open!
    8/12- IUI #4 Bravelle = BFN
    9/12-IUI #5 Bravelle = BFN
    1/13- IVF #1, micro-flare protocol, 7R, 6F, 5dt of 2 AA embryos, 1 to freeze = BFP
    Beta #1: 176, Beta #2: 422, EDD 10/8/13- it's TWINS!

    We triggered on a Friday night at 9pm and had the IUI on Sunday morning at 10am.  We also did "the deed" Sunday night, Monday night, and Wednesday night.  I triggered on cd10 and had my IUI on cd12.

    Triggered 12 hours before IUI....I felt like all my caluculations were off and thought it was odd she didnt do an U/S before we did the IUI but I guess our doc knew what she was doing....Good Luck!

    I didn't use a trigger shot so mine were done the morning after I got a +OPK. With the OPKs your are supposed to ovulate 24-36 hours after the first +. I always did mine in the morning and then we BD that night. Because of the MFI we didnt BD for a couple days before.

    I triggered Sunday night some time between 9-11 pm, can't remember exactly, then went in Tuesday morning at 9:30 for the IUI.  It was successful this time.

    I triggered Thurs late afternoon (around 2pm) then went in for IUI Friday 11am.  We did TI the following evening.  We have no MFI issues.  I had 2 decent sized follies (19 & 21.5) day of trigger.

    We triggered 22 hours before iui and then did another iui 24 hours after that. Then humped like rabbits as much as we could after that.  DH likes to feel like just maybe we possibly made the baby the natural way
    TTC#2: septum removed, 2 losses, Stage 2 Endo, thin lining, slight MFI
    iui #5 2/7 + 2/8 = BFP!! 11 dpiui

    I triggered 36 hours before IUI. I was so bloated and uncomfirtable we werent able to BD our lucky cycle so we know it was the IUI. GL!

    I triggered 35 to 36 hours before my IUI, and had TI that night and the following day.  I was CONVINCED that I ovulated early and that it wouldn't work.  I was (thankfully) wrong!  Good luck!
