Hi Ladies,
Sorry to jump on here with a question and run off, but does anyone know of/have recommendations for part-time infant childcare in Cincinnati? We've checked most centers and spent quite a bit of time on the state website, but...nada.
We live in the community of Northside and work in Blue Ash, are open to in home or centers, but just haven't found anyone willing to do part time (which makes sense since infants do take a lot of care, but we still have to find something!).
Any insight is appreciated!
TIA!
Re: Infant Care-Does part time even exist?
Yes...I work at a center in Mason and they accept part-time infants (less than 5 full days, but not half days). It is out of the way for you but we do have another family that drives in from Northside.
Don't just rely on the ODJFS site. Call centers. You never know, if their enrollment is down they just might take part time infants even though they don't advertise it. Good luck!
Ditto this exactly. My DS goes to a center 2 days/week, but when you look at the state report it doesn't reflect that. I think they interpret part time to be half days.
I sent out a large number of emails when we were first looking at centers, and specifically asked for pricing for 2 days/week. The biggest thing is I had to commit to what 2 days each week with most centers. Some were ok with varying days each week, but most were not.
I think Kinder Care on Cornell Rd does part-time (3 days a week) but it cost about the same as full-time at Blue Ash Educational Building. I found some people through care.com, craigslist, Cincinnati Moms Like Me, and sittercity.com but ended up with both of our Moms watching my daughter for the time being. Not a forever solution but it's working for now. Good luck!
Thanks ladies! That's helpful.
I've been looking for some time, but haven't found any churches that do younger than 6 months...could you recommend one?
I'll keep calling the centers!
Thanks again!
