B-Ready vs. B-Agile?

Hi There,

So today I saw the B-Ready and was blown away by how large it is in person.  It's nearly as large as the Bob stroller!  On the other hand, the B-Agile was so light and easy to push, I loved it.  Does anyone have the B-Ready?  Is it not really that big?  I have a compact car and we plan to take the stroller on the train/into cities.  Suggestions?

Re: B-Ready vs. B-Agile?

  • Yes, the B-Ready is that big.  I posted right below you. I am contemplating returning my B-Ready (haven't used it yet, only pushed it around inside the house) and getting the B-Agile.  The only thing that is stopping me is that the B-Agile doesn't have an adjustable handlebar and I kind of need that since I'm only 4'10" tall.

Before I got the B-Ready, I wanted the City Mini, but the handlebar was too high and was putting a strain on my lower back.  The B-Agile's handlebar is about 1" lower than the City Mini, but I'm not sure that this would be enough to not put a strain on my back when I push the stroller.

  • Also, even though the B-Ready is big, it fits just fine in the trunk of my Honda Accord.
  • They really aren't comparable, they're totally different kinds of strollers.

I owned the B-Ready, and sold it.  I just bought the B-Agile.

FYI:  In September you'll be able to buy the B-Ready and get a second seat for free with their "Free Ride Event" (google it), the current promotion for the B-Agile is a free second car base with the purchase of the B-Agile and B-Safe infant Seat or just a free child tray with the B-Agile.  I suggest keeping an eye on Amazon as they seem to have the best prices with the best return policy.

The B-Ready is huge, weighs about 27lbs and functions as a single or double stroller, travel system etc....its a beast compared to the B-Agile.  I'm petite (5'2 and about 105lbs pre-preg and hopefully post :) and just couldn't see myself comfortably lugging it in and out of a car.  It does take up considerable trunk space.  I'm also the type that hates pushing a grocery cart, so pushing a huge stroller seemed pretty awful to me too.  It can be compared to the UppaBaby Vista or BJ City Select in terms of size.  I only want one child so the B-Ready seemed like overkill for my needs, and I live in a city but see plenty of people with the larger strollers.  I'm convinced UppaBaby has a cult following.  :)

The B-Agile is a glorified umbrella stroller clocking in at about 17lbs but also can function as an travel system (with a Britax infant seat, or universal adapter) and it is MUCH MUCH smaller then the B-Ready.  Its basically the same exact thing as the City Mini, but better IMHO - there's a few threads on this, but basically Britax took the things people hated about the CM and made a stroller almost identical but without the issues.

    HTH!

Shaynnon, how do you like the fabric on the B-Agile as compared to the B-Ready?  I saw the B-Agile in BRU yesterday and the fabric felt "thin" compared to the B-Ready.

  • No complaints, I think it is a bit thinner - but thats probably accounting for the reduced weight as well.   I think its sort of a non-issue though.  :)

I went to Babies R' Us and put the City Mini and B-Agile side by side and the B-Agile's fabric definitely won.

  • I was almost set on the B-Agile but think i'll really need the adjustable handle!  I'm 5'2" and my DH is 6'1".  Any recommendations for good strollers with an adjustable handle?  I don't want anything too heavy or bulky or big.

Interesting that you say that! I'm choosing between with CM and the B-Agile (I also compared them at BRU) and the one thing I didn't like about the B-Agile was the fabric. Just curious what color you saw it in?

  • I have no experience with the b ready but LOVE my b agile. The only thing I could possibly want more is a bigger basket but its still just fine especially if you have an attachable diaper bag. Sure, it is a City Mini knock off and a lot of people are bothered by that but not me. They borrowed the design and made it better so I'm gettingmore for less money. I'm 5'6 and DH is 6'1 and it works well for both of us. I'd say no to the b ready due to weight alone. My old Chicco Cortina was horrible to deal with at 22lbs! So, if you went that route I'd plan on purchasing an umbrella stroller as well. Sorry for lack of paragraphs; I'm on my phone!

I saw it in black. I liked the handle bar better on the CM.  I thought the foam on the B-Agile was sort of a bummer.

I own the Chaperone infant seat, and really didn't like the universal adapter for the City Mini so my love for the B-Agile was sort of biased to begin with because of the infant seat adapters.

City Mini was my first choice when I first started looking at strollers.  :)

I did the same thing! I already bought the BJCM and when I heard about the B-Agile I had to go compare in BRU. The B-Agile was ok, but it just seemed a little rickety or something... My mini feels much more solid IMO.

     I posted right below you.

Thank you, all for the help!  It's good to know it fits into a smaller car!  (I'm sorry, I didn't read your post until afterwards, because I'm 5'7"  : )

I loved all the conversions for the B-Ready, but after seeing and playing with the B-Agile, we switched our registry.  I can't wait!
