Infant Tylenol Recall?!?!

I had no idea of this..My LO got 2 shots this morning at her doc visit...Doc said to give infant tylenol if she gets a slight fever or is just really fussy...Well I looked everywhere for infant tylenol to only be told it has been recalled. I bought some pedicare infant fever and pain reliever...I called doc to see if this was ok and I am awaiting a call back...

What have you given your LO???

    That makes sense now because I couldn't find the Infant Tylenol anywhere! I bought the pedicare pain/fever reducer and it worked great for my LO.

    This is why I only by the off brand stuff. There have been at least 3 recalls on infant tylenol since I have had my first and I don't like chancing it!

    Our pediatrician and I had a lengthy discussion about this when I took Sam in for his 2 month appointment.  There has been no infant Tylenol for several months (?) due to the recall. Rather, may lesser-known brands have come out with their own acetaminophen product.   Our pedi had just received a news alert that morning stating that Tylenol was going to be coming out with a new formulary and there is going to be three 'stages' of infant Tylenol -- each will require different dosing instructions.  She and the others in the practice are anticipating a huge increase in dosing errors by parents because it is said to be very confusing.  She recommended to just use any non-Tylenol brand of acetaminophen (no ibuprofen products yet either) and to stay away from Tylenol brand for awhile.

    I just bought the store brand acetaminophen drops.  My pedi said Pediacare was fine, too.  Just be sure of the dosage before you give it to LO.

    Yup we bought the off brand stuff and only give it to him as a last resort

    it was recalled about a year ago or more

    I use Target brand. I use generic on all medicines.

    YEs, same problem!!  I guess they are changing formula.  From what I understood, could be wrong:  Infant/child will be same stuff.  I purchased a target brand but it says 2+ but under 24 lbs, call pedi. I will have to ask at 4 month appt. I just wanted ot have something in the house.
